Exam preparation: Vocabulary

To go over the vocabulary covered in Units 1 - 4, you can use the following:

  • your class notes and the Präsenzskript files made available in the Online Campus
  • the vocabulary activities in Units 1 - 4 of your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition
  • the word list at the back of your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition (page 134)
  • the vocabulary activities in the Online exercises that were set in the Lessons 1 - 5 Self-study pages (see links below)
  • the vocabulary activities that were set in the Lessons 1 - 5 Self-study pages (see links below).

Exam preparation: Grammar

To go over the grammar covered in Units 1 - 4, you can use the following:

  • your class notes and the Präsenzskript files made available in the Online Campus
  • the Grammar check and Grammar practice activities in Units 1 - 4 of your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition
  • the grammar activities in the Online exercises that were set in the Lessons 1 - 5 Self-study pages (see links below)

Exam preparation: Student consulting

In the exam, you will be asked to write a minimum of 350 words and a maximum of 400 words in which you cover all FOUR of the following points:

  1. Briefly describe your research topic and why you chose it (i.e. how it will help you in your work or career).
  1. Give brief details of your methodology (e.g. books, journals, online articles, interviews with colleagues, etc.) indicating how you used the 40 hours you were allocated for this research.
  1. Summarise your findings (e.g. the results of your research). This should be the main and longest part of your text.
  1. Conclude with a proposal, recommendation or perhaps some speculation on the future as appropriate for your chosen topic.

To help you prepare for the student consulting task in the exam, you should use the following:

  • your class notes and the Präsenzskript files made available in the Online Campus
  • the sublists of the Academic Word List AWL
  • the writing activities that were set in the Lessons 5 Self-study page (see link below).
