EfP-N – Lesson 11 Self-study

Exam preparation

Warning signThe exam is based on what we have done in the lessons and on the homework set during the course. So to prepare for the exam, you need to use your course book (including the Online exercises) and the self-study pages.

Look back over what we have done using the following:

  • your class notes and the Präsenzskript files made available in the Online Campus
  • Self-study pages 1 – 10 (see links below)

Exam outline

The English for Professionals – Negotiations examination is structured as follows:

Note that the use of dictionaries is not permitted during the exam.

Exam preparation: Reading

To practise for the reading question in the exam, you can do the following:

  • Go to pages 110 – 11 in your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition, and do activity A. Reading.
Use the Reading answer key at the bottom of this page to check your answers.
  • Go to Lesson 9, where you’ll find practice activities to help you.

Exam preparation: Vocabulary & Business terms

To go over the vocabulary covered in Units 9 – 12, you can use the following:

  • your class notes and the Präsenzskript files made available in the Online Campus
  • the reading, listening and vocabulary activities in Units 9 – 12 of your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition
  • the word list at the back of your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition (page 134)
  • the activities in the Online exercises set in the self-study pages (1 – 10)
  • any reading, listening and vocabulary exercises set in the self-study pages (1 – 10) here on this website

If you find studying with your mobile phone helpful, you can use the Quizlet app, to create your own vocabulary sets. Make the individual sets about 10 – 12 words or phrases as this is a good number to study at one time. You will probably need to create more than one for each unit.

Alternatively, use word lists or cards to learn the vocabulary required.

Exam preparation: Grammar

To go over the grammar covered in Units 9 – 12, you can use the following:

  • your class notes and the Präsenzskript files made available in the Online Campus
  • the Grammar check and Grammar practice activities in Units 9 – 12 of your coursebook Career Express (B2) 2nd Edition
  • any grammar activities in the Online exercises set in the self-study pages (1 – 10)
  • any grammar exercises set in the self-study pages (1 – 10).
